About the Role
The Packaging Designer will be the brand guardian for the physical presentation of every product.
This role is primarily focused on end-to-end packaging design and production, from structural concepting to print‑ready artwork, while comfortably stepping in to deliver essential graphic design support for product launches.
- Create original packaging concepts for new launches, limited editions, and line extensions bringing ideas to life through mood boards, sketches, and visual mock‑ups.
- Interpret creative briefs and translate brand strategy into packaging that feels elevated, on‑brand, and commercially strong.
- Lead the full creation and finalisation of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging artwork (unit cartons, bottles, labels, inserts), ensuring technically perfect, print‑ready dielines using Adobe Illustrator.
- Design across all packaging formats - bottles, jars, tubes, compacts, cartons, boxes, and sleeves ensuring every touchpoint reflects brand identity, colour palettes, typography, and visual codes.
- Prepare production‑ready artwork and technical files, performing precise checks on bleeds, knockouts, dimensions, and structural accuracy.
- Work directly with global print and packaging suppliers, managing colour matching (Pantones), approvals, and pre‑production checks to guarantee quality.
- Act as the in‑house specialist on print processes and finishes (embossing, debossing, foiling, spot UV, varnishes, paper stocks), ensuring a premium and luxury feel across all packaging.
- Accurately lay out all regulatory text, ingredient listings (INCI), warnings, barcodes, and compliance elements aligned with regional requirements (FDA, EU, UK).
- Support Product Development by exploring innovative and sustainable packaging structures that enhance functionality, protection, and the overall unboxing experience.
- Stay ahead of beauty and luxury packaging trends, materials, and industry innovations — consistently bringing fresh ideas that elevate shelf presence and user experience.
- Create realistic 3D mockups and photorealistic renders for internal reviews, marketing, retail presentations, and e‑commerce pages.
- Design supplementary assets including instruction guides, leaflet inserts, POS/merchandising displays, and basic launch graphics for email and web.
- Maintain and update the digital library of approved packaging assets, templates, and specifications.

- 3+ years of professional experience in packaging design, preferably within the beauty, cosmetics, or luxury goods sectors.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and In Design is mandatory; strong skills in Photoshop for mockups and image manipulation.
- A proven understanding of commercial print production processes, material sourcing, and quality control checks.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding typography, regulatory text layout, and color accuracy (CMYK/Pantone).
- Experience with structural design (e. g., understanding fold lines and gluing tabs) and preparing technical dielines for suppliers.
- Proficiency in creating realistic 3D renderings/mockups (using software like Key Shot, Blender, or equivalent 3D functionality in Adobe tools) is a significant advantage.
- A strong portfolio that clearly showcases finalised, printed, and manufactured packaging projects.
