About the Business
Our client is an established direct-to-consumer premium homewares business based near Birmingham. It has a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for quality.
The Role
This is the first dedicated marketing hire. You'll take full ownership of a seven-figure annual paid media budget. You'll be hands-on from day one. You'll run Meta and Google yourself, own Klaviyo, and take responsibility for how well the website converts. This is not an agency-management role. The founders want someone who works inside the accounts. That means launching campaigns and new creative, reviewing results after a couple of weeks, cutting what isn't working and scaling what is. There's plenty of low-hanging fruit, and your work will have a direct, visible effect on revenue and profit. As the business scales, there's a genuine path to Head of Marketing, with the chance to build your own team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Paid media (Meta & Google), the core of the role: Take over full, hands-on management of Meta and Google Ads, including campaign structure, bidding, budgets, audiences and reporting. Manage a seven-figure annual spend, with a sharp focus on ROAS, CAC and profitable growth. Keep a steady pipeline of new creative live, including campaigns for every new product launch. Brief and manage UGC creators and outside creative support when needed. Test, review, trim and scale on a regular cycle, and bring new ideas to the founders without waiting to be asked.
- Email & SMS (Klaviyo): Take ownership of Klaviyo from the founders, building on the existing flows (browse abandonment, cart abandonment and sample purchases). Grow repeat purchases and customer lifetime value with campaigns, segmentation and new flows.
- Website conversion: Own conversion across the site, including product pages, checkout and merchandising. Plan and run a structured testing programme (A/B tests, landing pages, offers) and turn the results into revenue. Use customer insight and buying behaviour to help shoppers buy with confidence. This is a considered, high-value purchase, and the information you give customers matters.
- Commercial ownership: Report clearly on performance and what it means for the business. Work closely with the founders on promotions, trading peaks and growth plans.
What We're Looking For
- Strong, hands-on experience running Meta and Google Ads yourself, not just overseeing an agency, ideally at significant spend in ecommerce or DTC.
- An all-round ecommerce marketer whose biggest strength is paid media.
- Solid working knowledge of Klaviyo or a similar email/SMS platform.
- Experience improving website conversion through testing, product page optimisation and merchandising.
- A commercial mindset: you understand unit economics and think in margin, ROAS and revenue, not just clicks.
- A genuine self-starter who spots opportunities and acts on them without needing constant direction, and knows when to bring the founders in.
- Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team where you own the results.
- Ambition and potential to grow into a Head of Marketing role.
A passion for homewares isn't required. The founders care far more about sharp thinking and results.
Bonus points for: experience in homewares, interiors or other high-value, considered-purchase products; WooCommerce experience; briefing UGC creators or working with freelancers.
What's In It For You
- Salary up to £60,000, depending on experience.
- Full ownership of a significant budget, with direct access to the founders.
- A first-hire role with real influence over the growth of an established brand.
- A clear route to progress into Head of Marketing.
- Additional benefits – holiday, pension, product discount, hybrid working, etc.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
