The Role

Lead strategic growth across a high‑value healthcare portfolio. Our client has an exciting opportunity in their Commercial team for an Account Director – Healthcare. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced commercial professional who thrives in a relationship‑led environment and enjoys shaping long‑term customer strategy. You will take full ownership of commercial performance across your region — driving revenue growth, strengthening customer satisfaction and ensuring long‑term contract success. Working closely with operational leaders and local account management teams, you’ll influence renewals, retention and strategic development across a portfolio of major healthcare clients. This is a role where you can make a meaningful impact on both customer outcomes and business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing contracts to identify development and optimisation opportunities.
  • Define customer‑specific objectives, KPIs and performance measures.
  • Lead negotiations on contract extensions, expansions, pricing adjustments and optimisation.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision‑makers.
  • Implement a structured planned‑calling system to support retention and growth.
  • Review lost business and complaints to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead renewal activity and proactively manage client risk to avoid re‑tender situations.
  • Oversee tender processes for your customer portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability.
  • Develop strategic account plans for key customers and prospects.
  • Manage high‑value accounts and specialist client projects.
  • Coach and support General Managers and CRM teams to achieve growth targets.
  • Provide analytical insight and recommendations to Contract Managers.
  • Own portfolio performance across revenue, satisfaction and profitability.
  • Collaborate with GMs, CRMs and Operations to exceed growth KPIs.
