The Growth Company (GC) is seeking a Work and Health Coach to support individuals to retain employment, return to work following sickness absence, or move into new employment opportunities. This role focuses on delivering the Work Well service, using a personalised, holistic approach to help individuals overcome health-related and other barriers to work. As a Work and Health Coach, you will work directly with participants to understand their needs, develop tailored action plans, and connect them with the right support services. You will play a key role in promoting employment as a positive outcome for health and wellbeing, working closely with employers, health professionals, and local partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting individuals with complex needs who is passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives. Please note that this role includes working across various community locations within the Wigan area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of participants, supporting them to achieve their employment goals
- Deliver Work and Health Assessments (face-to-face and via Microsoft Teams)
- Identify and address barriers to work, including health and wellbeing needs
- Develop personalised action plans to support participants into or back into employment
- Source job opportunities through tailored searches and engaging with local employers
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with external partners
- Build relationships with health services, including GP practices, Talking Therapies, and MSK services
- Support referrals to additional services where required (e.g. wellbeing, housing, debt support)
- Maintain accurate records, data entry, and reporting using internal systems
- Provide guidance to employers on workplace adjustments and job retention strategies
About You
- Experienced in supporting individuals with complex needs, including health conditions or disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a supportive and empathetic approach
- Organised and able to manage a varied caseload in a target-driven environment
- Confident in delivering advice, guidance, or coaching support
- Able to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
- Passionate about improving outcomes in employment, health, and wellbeing
Skills Required
