The Growth Company’s (GC) Education and Skills Team is recruiting for a Skills Development Tutor – Engineering.
This role supports the delivery of high-quality training across funded programmes, focusing on enabling learners to achieve positive outcomes.
As a leading provider of skills and training in the UK, we support businesses and individuals with apprenticeships, higher education, and commercial training, helping develop skills across various sectors and levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver face-to-face and digital curricula that promote knowledge, skills, and behaviors, ensuring accessibility for all learners, including apprentices and adult learners.
- Use diagnostics to establish starting points, set targets, and review progress with learners and stakeholders.
- Mark work accurately, provide developmental feedback, and set objectives aligned with learning policies.
- Conduct workplace visits for apprentices to monitor progress and communicate with employers.
- Track learner progress, identify at-risk learners, and utilize support resources to minimize disadvantage.
- Maintain relationships with learners, employers, and parents, facilitating engagement and goal achievement.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to curriculum development based on stakeholder feedback.
- Proactively manage safeguarding concerns and ensure health, safety, and wellbeing through risk assessments.
About You:
- Effective workload management, independent working, and team integration skills.
- Confidence in teaching at Level 2 and 3.
- Proficiency with digital systems and eLearning platforms.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and relevant qualifications.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in teaching and assessment within Engineering.
- Ability to deliver NC or Precision Grinding at Level 3.
- Hold PTLLS or A1/Assessor Award (training available).
- Innovative and engaging curriculum design skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures.
- Hold D32/D33 or A1 (essential), D34 or V1 (desirable).
