The Growth Company's (GC) Finance team is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to provide a comprehensive finance and accounting service across companies within The Growth Company Group. You will produce accurate management accounts and other key financial information, while ensuring the integrity and completeness of data entered into manual and computerised systems. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you will provide reliable financial insight to support effective decision-making and strong financial management across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Reporting Accountants to produce and review accurate, timely and relevant management accounts and other financial information in line with agreed timescales.
  • Provide supporting commentary and explanations for variances against forecasts and budgets to inform key business decisions.
  • Assist the FP&A team with the preparation and submission of funding claims.
  • Produce detailed analysis of key business risk areas and resolve finance queries with wider Group functions.
  • Complete and review robust balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving all reconciling items promptly and maintaining a sufficient audit trail.
  • Maintain the general ledger to agreed timescales, ensuring journals are produced and posted accurately to support meaningful management accounts.
  • Prepare annual and weekly cash flow forecasts, along with weekly BACS runs for submission and payment.
  • Prepare statutory financial information and detailed audit files, liaising with auditors to provide financial analysis and key control documents.

About You:

  • Experienced in working as a Management Accountant, including management accounting, cash flow analysis and completing control files.
  • Working towards a recognised accounting qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Organised and flexible, with strong communication skills and the ability to support different companies or operating units across the Group.

Skills required:

  • Strong knowledge of management and financial accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheets, with knowledge of Unit 4 being beneficial.
  • Understanding of public sector and government programmes.
  • Able to produce timely and accurate financial information that supports meaningful management decisions.
