The Growth Company (GC) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Engagement Manager to work across the Marketing and Communications and Greater Manchester (GM) Strategy and Place teams. The role involves researching and maintaining intelligence on GM business networks, coordinating sector forums and key business events, supporting the CEO with stakeholder engagement, and delivering communications activity to raise the profile of GC and the GM Business Growth Hub in supporting Greater Manchester’s economic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, map, and maintain intelligence on GM business networks and relationships.
  • Utilise data, information systems, and tools to support insight and reporting.
  • Deliver coordinated business communications and engagement alongside stakeholder teams.
  • Produce targeted communications across platforms, including newsletters, briefings, and events.
  • Plan and deliver high-profile stakeholder events and visits.
  • Support the CEO and internal teams to deliver joined-up engagement activity.
  • Promote key messages and success stories to external stakeholders and commissioners.
  • Evaluate engagement activity and provide reporting, insights, and recommendations.

About you

  • Graduate calibre or equivalent experience in stakeholder communications, policy, or research.
  • Experience working within a stakeholder-focused or partnership environment.
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and working across multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of communications, engagement, and economic development.
  • Knowledge of Greater Manchester’s business, policy, and political landscape.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support events when required.
