The Growth Company’s (GC) Education and Skills team is recruiting for a HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Skills Development Tutor to design, deliver, and continuously enhance high‑quality training across multiple funding streams. In this role, you’ll support learners to achieve meaningful outcomes by developing their knowledge, skills, behaviours, and attitudes. This role is based at the Trafford Park Skills Centre, with one day per week working from home.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage in open events, taster sessions, IAG delivery and employer outreach to meet targets and build learner caseloads across all programmes.
- Manage and retain your learner and employer caseload, supporting progression and identifying opportunities for new business.
- Plan and deliver high‑quality face‑to‑face and blended curricula, adapting content to meet diverse learner needs across all funding streams.
- Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback, and agree development goals with learners and key stakeholders.
- Use accurate starting points to set meaningful, shared targets and regularly review progress to achieve KPIs.
- Track and monitor KSB development, applying support strategies and risk‑banding to ensure timely learner achievement.
- Gather and use learner and employer feedback to drive continuous curriculum and quality improvement.
- Maintain compliance and quality through CPD, participation in internal quality assurance, and adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and risk‑assessment requirements.
About You
- Up‑to‑date specialist knowledge and relevant professional qualifications.
- Working towards or holding a Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures, including emergency evacuation.
- Ability to motivate, inspire and positively influence learners.
- Supportive approach with a commitment to learner success.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet diverse learner and organisational needs.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications to enhance the learning experience.
- Confident in using digital systems and eLearning platforms to guide and support learners.
Skills Required
- Minimum of five years’ vocational industry experience within the specialist subject area.
- Experience working to teaching and learning quality standards, including OFSTED requirements.
- One to two years’ experience in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational and workload‑planning abilities.
- Effective coaching skills to support learner development.
- Creative ability to design innovative, engaging and impactful learning materials.
