The Growth Company (GC) is hiring a Group Delivery Trainer for the West Yorkshire area.

This role involves providing advice, guidance, coaching, mentoring, and support to participants through regular one-on-one meetings and group interventions. The aim is to help hard-to-reach individuals prepare for engagement with core prison services and their eventual release.

This role will involve travel within West Yorkshire.

Currently, all applications are considered as expressions of interest as funding is subject to contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivery of group sessions 3 hours per day.
  2. Develop and deliver high-quality, engaging group sessions as outlined in the timetable to motivate participants to attend and complete their activities.
  3. Monitor and track participants\’ progress, including through reviews, to ensure high attendance, achievement rates, and progression.
  4. Provide participants with structured feedback and set development objectives.
  5. Build strong relationships with HMPPS and other agencies providing ongoing and pre-release support.

About You:

  • Experience working with offenders or those disaffected and marginalised from mainstream services in training, guidance, advice, and counselling environments is desirable.
  • High-level guidance skills, with the ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions.
  • A warm, approachable, empathetic style and the ability to establish rapport and build relationships with participants that support their progression to education, training, and employment, facilitating desistance from crime.
  • Knowledge of the Justice sector in a custody environment.

Skills Required:

  • Understanding of issues impacting offender rehabilitation and desistance theory.
  • Experience working with offenders or disaffected individuals in training, guidance, advice, and counselling environments is desirable.
  • Familiarity with National Probation Services or HM Prison environments, as well as local and national training, education, and employment opportunities, and expertise in training and guidance.
