The Growth Company's (GC) Employment team are looking for an Employer Engagement Consultant to join the Jobs Guarantee programme.

Support Young People to gain valuable work experience.

The Jobs Guarantee is a government-backed programme designed to help young people aged 18 to 24 overcome long-term unemployment. Through fully funded, six-month paid placements, participants gain valuable work experience, training, mentoring, and tailored support to help them build confidence, develop new skills, and move into sustainable employment. Placements are paid at the National Minimum Wage for up to 25 hours per week. Employers taking part gain the chance to reduce recruitment costs, bring in fresh ideas and develop talent for the future.

Please note that this role is being advertised subject to contract award, until an outcome is confirmed, your application will be treated as speculative.

Please note a full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver employer engagement and sales activity to generate leads, vacancies and business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, stakeholders and Growth Company colleagues to maximise referrals and service uptake.
  • Attend employer, networking and stakeholder events to promote services and identify new opportunities.
  • Take a consultative approach with employers to understand recruitment and workforce development needs.
  • Source suitable vacancies and match customers to employment opportunities through direct sales and reverse marketing activity.
  • Arrange interviews, coordinate recruitment activity and ensure clear communication between employers, customers and advisors.
  • Gather and share employer feedback following submissions and interviews to support customer progression.
  • Maintain accurate records, update management information systems and ensure compliance with data security and operational procedures.

About You:

  • You have previous sales experience and enjoy building relationships with employers and key stakeholders.
  • You are a confident communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate and build rapport quickly.
  • You are target-driven and motivated by achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • You can identify business opportunities and take a proactive approach to securing new employer engagement.
  • You are organised, adaptable and able to manage a varied workload effectively.
  • You have a customer-focused approach and are passionate about helping people access employment opportunities.
  • You are comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience working to challenging sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Strong networking, relationship management and business development skills.
  • Ability to engage with decision-makers and secure employment and recruitment opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively.
  • Good knowledge of recruitment, training and employment services.
  • Excellent understanding of the local labour market, recruitment methods and growth industries.
  • Strong IT skills, including management information systems, spreadsheets, email and diary management.
