As our school continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children to achieve their very best through positive relationships, nurturing support and high-quality classroom practice. This role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with children, is proactive and adaptable, and understands the importance of creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive team, alongside experienced teachers and leaders who are committed to staff development and wellbeing. At Grove Street, we are passionate about helping people grow professionally and develop their skills and expertise.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions to support progress in RWI, reading, writing and maths
  • Supporting children's confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
  • Building positive relationships with children through nurturing and consistent support
  • Promoting excellent behaviour and positive attitudes to learning
  • Supporting inclusive practice to ensure all children feel valued and successful
  • Preparing resources and helping to create an engaging learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider inclusion team
  • Contributing to assessment observations and feedback to teachers
  • Supporting play, social interaction and communication during less structured parts of the day

Qualifications:

  • Holds a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with primary aged children, ideally within KS1
  • Has a good understanding of phonics and early reading development
  • Is patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with children
  • Can work flexibly as part of a team
  • Has good communication and organisational skills
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting all children to succeed
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude
  • Is keen to learn, develop professionally and contribute to school life
