The Grounds Care Group carry out Grounds Maintenance services for multiple clients across the UK. We are seeking a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join our busy but friendly teams in London and surrounding areas. Salary is between £28,000 to £30,000 per annum /£540-£575 per week (dependant on skills and experience). This opportunity can be on an employed or self‑employed basis.
You will be responsible for undertaking general grounds maintenance using hand tools and powered horticultural machinery. Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all works allocated to the team are completed in the timescale given and to a high level of standard.
- Ensuring all machinery is kept well looked after & maintained.
- Managing your team to ensure that all members know what is expected of them in their role.
- Understanding the needs of each site/client as not all specifications are the same, and communicating this within the team.
- Being proactive by looking forward along the work schedule to be aware of upcoming works and any specific needs involved.
- Suggesting recommendations for the site and additional works.
- Having an excellent understanding of mobile applications.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, ensuring all tasks are carried out in adherence to the company's Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
All work will be performed according to company policies, standards and in line with the company’s values. All work will be carried out professionally and to the highest possible standard.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in Grounds Maintenance.
- PA1/ PA6 Certificates.
- A Full UK Driving Licence.
- Be a Team Player and Demonstrate Initiative.
- Grounds Care Group has safeguarding responsibilities and will require an enhanced DBS check and 2 satisfactory work references.
Working hours are Monday to Friday. Overtime is available. Uniform is provided. Additional annual leave on your birthday. This is part of a growing and developing organisation with great opportunities for someone looking to develop in this industry and would like career progression.
