About The Groucho Club
The Groucho exists to keep Soho’s artistic, liberal spirit burning bright, and to champion London’s role as a creative powerhouse on the world stage.
A joyful, generous and welcoming space for ideas, creative life and the occasional late night.
Born in 1985 as the antidote to the cloistered gentlemen’s clubs of London’s Mayfair, The Groucho Club was founded on a radical idea: that good company is the kind chosen by ideas rather than status, that emerging voices belong in the same room as established ones, and that culture is made through conversation, collision and curiosity.
Forty years on, that belief still drives everything we do.
We exist to facilitate the conversations that shape culture now and next, to back the people making it, and to keep Soho generous, welcoming and alive to creative possibility.
We host, we don’t serve.
Members and guests are people we know, not names on a list.
