The Griffin Institute for Surgical Training & Research (TGI) is recruiting a Theatre Technician to join our Operating Theatre & Biological Services Unit, based at Northwick Park Hospital and St Mark’s Hospital. TGI is a Centre of Excellence delivering advanced surgical training for NHS surgeons, including robotic surgery, alongside preclinical contract research within licensed facilities.
The successful candidate will support the preparation, delivery and breakdown of surgical training courses and research studies within a licensed operating theatre environment. The role also includes responsibilities within the Biological Services Unit.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Willingness to work within regulated environments in accordance with SOPs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in an operating theatre, clinical research, mortuary or technical setting
- Experience within a GLP or regulated facility
- Degree in a relevant scientific or biomedical discipline
- Experience working with biological material or human cadavers
