We are partnering with a leading renewable energy platform to appoint a Legal Counsel with 4–8 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) to support its growing portfolio of clean energy assets. This role offers exposure to high-value transactions across renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on M&A activity across their BESS portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and project investments.
- Supporting the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy and BESS projects.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents including SPAs, shareholders’ agreements, and ancillary documentation.
- Providing legal input on project structuring, risk allocation, and regulatory considerations.
- Coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders across development, finance, and operations teams.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance frameworks.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction) with 4–8 years’ PQE.
- Strong experience in corporate/M&A transactions, ideally gained at a leading law firm or in-house within the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrable exposure to renewable energy projects; experience with BESS is highly desirable.
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
