An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join a leading Biogas developer.

Based in their central London offices The Commercial Manager will play a critical role in bridging technical project development and senior executive decision-making.

The role is responsible for analysing construction, engineering, and development inputs for biogas projects and converting them into clear commercial insights, financial models, reports, and recommendations for the C-suite.

This position supports investment decisions across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through construction, commissioning, and operations.

Key Responsibilities Commercial & Financial Analysis Analyse technical construction documents, development reports, engineering studies, and EPC proposals to assess commercial and financial implications.

Build, maintain, and review detailed financial models for biogas projects (CAPEX, OPEX, revenues, sensitivities, downside cases).

Evaluate project economics, returns, risks, and funding structures.

Support valuation, investment committee papers, and lender-facing materials.

Executive Reporting & Decision Support Translate complex technical and development data into concise, high-quality reports and recommendations for the C-suite and Board.

Prepare investment memos, dashboards, and executive summaries that clearly articulate risks, opportunities, and financial impacts.

Act as a trusted commercial advisor to senior leadership on project viability and strategic decisions.

Project Development & Construction Support Work closely with development, engineering, construction, and operations teams to understand project assumptions and constraints.

Review construction budgets, schedules, contingencies, and change orders from a commercial perspective.

Track project performance against budget and forecasts during development and build phases.

Stakeholder & Transaction Support Support discussions with investors, lenders, advisors, and joint venture partners.

Assist with due diligence processes, including responding to technical and financial queries.

Coordinate inputs between internal teams and external consultants.

Key Skills & Experience Essential Strong commercial finance background, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, or energy-from-waste.

Proven experience analysing technical or engineering-led projects and translating them into financial and commercial insights.

Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel-based project finance models).

Ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently to senior executives.

Experience working across development and construction phases of large capital projects.

Desirable Experience in biogas, biomethane, anaerobic digestion, or wider renewable energy projects.

Exposure to project finance, debt structuring, or investment transactions.

Familiarity with EPC contracts, construction risk, and cost control.

Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent).
