This organisation is a renewable energy developer specialising in the delivery of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. We are seeking a technically skilled professional to support the design, assessment, and development of large-scale solar PV and BESS projects across the UK. The role involves working closely with development, engineering, and project management teams throughout the full project lifecycle - from early feasibility through to planning and delivery.
This position is ideal for someone with strong CAD skills and at least some GIS skills, who enjoys technical analytical work combined with collaborative problem-solving and who is motivated by contributing directly to the growth of the renewable energy sector, within a medium sized company.
- Prepare high-quality CAD and GIS drawings to support land agreements, planning submissions and project development activities.
- Produce option plans, lease plans and red-line drawings for use in legal and commercial processes.
- Conduct early-stage site assessments and feasibility analyses.
- Perform shading analysis and energy yield assessments using industry-recognised software.
- Assist project teams by providing clear, accurate technical outputs and documentation.
Requirements:
- A degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in engineering, renewable energy, geography or a related field.
- Approximately one or two years’ experience in CAD design and/or GIS analysis, preferably within the renewables, infrastructure, or built environment sectors.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and GIS platforms.
- Strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple projects.
- Experience with PVCase or other solar design software.
