Overview
We are working with a leading investment bank / boutique advisory platform seeking to hire an Associate into its Energy Infrastructure team in London.
The team advises on a broad range of transactions across the energy transition landscape, including renewable generation, energy storage, grid infrastructure, and emerging technologies such as hydrogen and sustainable fuels.
This is a highly execution-focused role, offering exposure to end-to-end deal processes across both M&A and debt advisory mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of M&A and debt transactions across energy infrastructure assets (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, hydrogen, etc.)
- Build and maintain complex financial models (DCF, LBO, project finance models)
- Prepare investment materials, including pitch books, IMs, and management presentations
- Conduct market analysis across power markets, regulatory frameworks, and energy transition trends
- Coordinate with clients, investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders throughout transaction processes
- Assist in due diligence processes, including commercial, technical, and financial workstreams
- Contribute to origination efforts, including idea generation and client pitching
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience within:
- Investment Banking (M&A / Debt Advisory), or
- Infrastructure Advisory / Big 4 Deals, or
- Energy-focused Corporate Finance / Developer M&A
- Strong exposure to energy, renewables, or infrastructure transactions
- Advanced financial modelling skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Power markets
- Project finance structures
- Energy transition themes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to renewable energy assets (solar, wind, storage)
- Experience with project finance / structured debt
- International transaction exposure
- Language skills (e.g. German, Dutch, or Nordic languages)
