b Overview /b p In this role you will lead grid connection, power systems and energy storage engineering across the UK portfolio to enable grid integration and project delivery. You will act as the technical authority, guiding development through construction, commissioning and operations while advancing connection strategies and engineering excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulators to support NET-zero objectives and scale a growing pipeline of solar and battery storage assets. This is a high-impact leadership role at a fast-growing renewable platform with a clear strategic focus on grid-enabled growth. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive compensation package /li li excellent career progression /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Drive grid connection strategy for utility-scale solar and BESS across the UK /li li Manage relationships with NESO, TOs and DNOs, and oversee connection applications and compliance /li li Review power system studies (load flow, fault level, harmonics, stability) and challenge results /li li Support grid queue reform and evolving UK connection frameworks /li li Define engineering standards and specifications for utility-scale BESS /li li Lead technology selection, supplier assessments and technical due diligence /li li Oversee design/integration of battery systems, PCS, EMS, SCADA and plant controls /li li Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code and industry standards; support commissioning and optimization /li li Provide technical leadership across development, EPC and operations teams /li li Support planning applications and stakeholder engagement on technical matters /li li Evaluate grid constraints, co-location opportunities and mitigation of technical risks /li li Support project financing, lender reviews and M A activities /li li Lead and develop a high-performing Grid BESS Engineering team; manage consultants and partners /li li Collaborate with Development, Construction, Asset Management and Commercial teams /li li Represent the business with regulators, network operators and industry groups /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li 10+ years in grid integration, power systems, renewables or battery storage /li li Strong understanding of UK transmission and distribution landscape /li li Proven track record securing grid connections for renewable projects /li li Expertise in utility-scale BESS development and engineering /li li Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex stakeholders /li li Knowledge of UK Grid Code and distribution code requirements /li li Power system analysis and grid studies /li li BESS technologies and system integration /li li EMS and SCADA experience /li li Experience with solar PV and renewable energy assets /li li Proficiency in PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD or ETAP /li li Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent (desirable) /li li Experience in UK IPP/developer/utilities/consultancy (desirable) /li /ul ul li stakeholder management /li li leadership /li li cross-functional collaboration /li li UK Grid Code and distribution code requirements /li li Power system analysis and grid studies /li li BESS technologies and system integration /li /ul
