A growing renewable energy company is seeking qualified Electricians to join its expanding team across the UK, supporting the installation of solar PV systems. This role is ideal for experienced electricians looking to transition into the renewable energy sector. Previous solar experience is not essential—strong electrical knowledge and a willingness to learn are key.
The Role
The Electrician will be responsible for the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems across residential and/or commercial sites. Working as part of a wider installation team, the role will involve ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, wiring, and connecting solar PV systems
- Carrying out electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning
- Ensuring all installations comply with current regulations and standards (e.g. BS 7671)
- Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical issues
- Completing all relevant certification and documentation
- Working collaboratively with roofers and installation teams on-site
- Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
- Providing excellent service to customers where required
About the Candidate
- Fully qualified Electrician (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- Proven experience in electrical installation (domestic and/or commercial)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and compliance standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work at height and in outdoor environments
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience with solar PV installations
- Testing & inspection qualifications (e.g. 2391)
- Experience in renewable energy or similar sectors
