An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a fast-growing renewable energy developer delivering utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK.
This role offers the chance to work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage grid connection and design through to construction support and commissioning while also gaining exposure to emerging technologies including data centres, geothermal and onshore wind.
The business has a significant UK pipeline of large-scale renewable infrastructure projects and offers a genuinely entrepreneurial environment where engineers are encouraged to take ownership, contribute ideas, and broaden their technical capabilities.

The Role
- Producing and reviewing HV electrical designs for solar and BESS projects
- Preparing and managing grid connection applications with DNOs and National Grid
- Supporting equipment specification and technical evaluation of inverters, transformers, switchgear and BESS technologies
- Conducting power systems studies including load flow, fault level and harmonic analysis
- Providing technical input into planning applications, EIAs and infrastructure consenting processes
- Coordinating with external consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery
- Supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities
- Exploring opportunities to apply AI, scripting and automation tools to improve engineering workflows and project delivery
- Keeping up to date with grid codes, industry standards and emerging technologies
About You
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Understanding of UK power systems and grid connection processes
- 400kV Experience
- Familiarity with renewable energy electrical design (Solar PV and/or BESS)
- Experience with power systems software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSS/E
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Interest in coding, automation or AI tools (Python or similar advantageous)
- A proactive, self-learning mindset and desire to work in a fast-moving environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional membership or progress toward chartership (IET / Engineering Council) would be advantageous.
