About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a Site Engineer / Quality Control Engineer on behalf of a leading offshore wind contractor with a strong portfolio in the installation of foundations for utility-scale wind farms. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution and quality assurance of offshore foundation installation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support offshore foundation installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, monitor construction processes, and verify documentation in line with QA/QC procedures.
- Liaise with project engineers, offshore supervisors, and client representatives to ensure alignment on technical and quality matters.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
- Support the preparation and review of method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and HSE briefings as required.
- Provide technical support during offshore campaigns and ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Marine, or related discipline).
- Experience in offshore wind or marine construction, ideally with a focus on foundation installation (monopiles, jackets, suction buckets, etc.).
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and offshore construction standards.
- Familiarity with inspection tools, reporting systems, and quality documentation.
- Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, GWO, medical) or willingness to obtain.
- Right to work in the UK or EU.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or major offshore wind developers.
- Knowledge of welding, coating, or grouting inspection standards.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, Navisworks, inspection reporting systems).
