An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing organisation operating within the UK power and T&D sector. This role will focus on the successful delivery of transformer and grid infrastructure projects, supporting utilities, renewable energy developments, and major infrastructure clients across the UK.
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Working within a technically driven environment, you will collaborate with engineering, procurement, logistics, installation teams, and external stakeholders to deliver complex energy infrastructure projects. This position offers a hybrid working model with occasional travel to project sites, client locations, and stakeholder meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Project Delivery: Lead and manage transformer and power infrastructure projects from project award through to completion. Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
- Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource strategies. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, logistics, and site operations.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track project performance against key milestones and objectives. Produce regular project reports and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Documentation & Deliverables: Manage project documentation, including technical records, quality documentation, progress reports, and contractual deliverables. Ensure all documentation is maintained and submitted in accordance with project requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams. Build and maintain strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Commercial & Contract Management: Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance. Support change management processes, claims management, and contractual obligations. Contribute commercial insight to project decision-making.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify project risks and opportunities. Develop mitigation strategies to minimise delivery impacts and maximise project outcomes.
- Quality, Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality across all project activities.
- Tender & Business Support: Provide project delivery expertise to support tendering and business development activities. Contribute lessons learned and technical coordination during bid preparation.
- Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned and support ongoing process improvement initiatives. Promote best practice project management across the organisation.
You will engage with a range of stakeholders, including:
- Utility and infrastructure clients

- Proven track record delivering complex technical, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across technical and commercial functions.
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations.
