About the Company: Our client is an established and accredited Independent Connections Provider (ICP), specialising in the electrical design, installation, and commissioning of LV and HV systems up to 132kV. With over a decade in the industry and a highly experienced team of qualified electricians, fitters, and engineers, they deliver substation builds, extensions, and cable route projects for major clients including National Grid and SSEN. The business is on a clear growth trajectory and is currently working towards achieving Tier 1 contractor status.
The Opportunity: This is a newly created senior leadership role, brought about by growth. The current Director has been personally managing day-to-day operations alongside their director-level responsibilities, and is now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take full ownership of that function.
- Lead a team of 5 Senior Project Managers delivering electrical infrastructure projects across the UK.
- Oversee delivery of substation builds, extensions, and cable route projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Act as a key point of contact for major clients including DNOs and National Grid.
- Support the business's strategic ambition to achieve Tier 1 contractor status.
- Provide strong, hands-on leadership to project teams, with a focus on developing talent and driving operational excellence.
- Work closely with the Director on business planning and long-term growth strategy.
What We're Looking For:
- Background in construction, contracting, or electrical infrastructure.
- Experience working with DNO's, National Grid, or SSEN.
- Substation experience essential, ideally including 132kV and 33kV.
- Circa 8-10 years' relevant industry experience.
- Experience with a Tier 1 contractor would be highly advantageous.
- A leader who is looking for a long-term role with genuine progression to director level.
