Job Title: Asset Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems
Location: London
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Asset Manager to support the management, optimisation, and compliance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and HV grid infrastructure, including associated transmission equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Performance & Asset Management
- Work with Technical Asset Managers to optimise performance of BESS and HV assets
- Oversee Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) with OEMs, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
- Monitor asset KPIs and identify performance optimisation opportunities
- Support technical due diligence for new acquisitions and onboarding into internal systems
- Contribute to lifecycle planning, reinvestment strategy, and long-term asset optimisation
- Assist with OPEX/CAPEX tracking and cost efficiency analysis
- Support refurbishment and upgrade projects, ensuring procurement governance compliance
- Prepare asset performance reporting, including dashboards, board reports, and investor updates
- Support external reporting requirements (e.g., lenders, capacity markets, grid compliance submissions)
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, contractors, grid operators, and internal teams
- Ensure clear, timely communication across all stakeholders
- Conduct site visits to assess asset condition and contractor performance
- Act as a key contact for operational and technical asset queries
Operations & Compliance
- Manage O&M agreements and monitor performance KPIs
- Ensure compliance with grid codes, capacity market obligations, and regulatory requirements
- Support safety, environmental, and operational compliance across all assets
- Assist with incident tracking, issue resolution, and contractor coordination
- Maintain and update asset risk registers
- Support governance reporting and performance reviews
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in asset management or technical energy-sector role
- Exposure to BESS, renewables, HV infrastructure, or grid operations
- Understanding of the power sector value chain, including OEM and technical asset management interfaces
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with ability to manage both strategic and operational priorities
- Proficiency with digital tools and asset management systems
- Fluent English and strong organisational capability
