About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a fixed‑term basis for one year.
This role is linked to funding to provide 1:1 support for a specific child and will involve working closely with the class teacher and wider staff to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment.
You will support children through play‑based learning, both within the classroom and outdoor provision, helping to promote their social, emotional, and developmental growth.
While the primary focus of the role will be providing dedicated 1:1 support, you will also contribute to the wider life of the classroom by supporting small group activities and helping to ensure all children feel included and engaged in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils during teacher‑led activities, encouraging independence and active participation.
- Prepare and maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment, including assisting with displays and resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social development during learning and break times.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.
