We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Metering Electrician to be the responsible person for electrical work within the business. This is a key position with responsibility for ensuring that all electrical activities are carried out safely, compliantly, and to a high technical standard. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of operational processes, procedures, and health & safety policies, whilst also providing technical leadership across metering and electrical installations. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a senior, influential position with both hands-on and strategic responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Responsible Person for all electrical work within the business.
  • Develop, review, and implement safe systems of work, procedures, and method statements.
  • Support the development and implementation of health & safety policies and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out electrical design, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Complete electric metering installations and meter exchanges, including three-phase systems.
  • Install, commission, and programme AMR systems.
  • Install data cabling, CT metering systems, and EMS solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and operational teams.
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Drive best practice and maintain high standards across all electrical operations.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and highly competent professional who takes ownership of their work and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will be comfortable working both strategically and hands-on, with the ability to support colleagues, influence best practice, and contribute to the ongoing development of the business.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • AM2 Qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • City & Guilds Electrical Qualification.
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).
  • 3 Phase EUSR Metering Certification (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of electrical compliance, regulations, and safe isolation practices.
  • Proven experience within metering and electrical installation environments.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • CT EUSR Metering Certification.
  • EV Qualification.
  • Recognised Safe Isolation Provider qualification.
  • DNO registration or experience working to DNO standards.
  • Experience conducting audits and compliance reviews.
  • Experience developing operational processes and procedures.
