To act as the central translator between business requirements and technical delivery, ensuring that all changes are well-defined, aligned, functional, tested, and documented. The Head of Product & Delivery owns the roadmap, manages dependencies across systems, and provides leadership to BI, development, data, and operations functions. This role ensures that firefighting is balanced with long-term improvement and that delivery teams understand both the what and the why.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Ownership & Requirements
- Gather, clarify, and challenge business requirements.
- Translate business requests into Jira stories with triggers, logic, exceptions, scheduling, and tracking.
- Provide documentation, acceptance criteria, and context so the team can deliver effectively.
- QA outputs across BI, development, and data before release.
2. Roadmap & Delivery Oversight
- Own the product/delivery roadmap, balancing short-term fixes with long-term changes.
- Prioritise based on business impact, risk, and dependencies.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across BI, development, data, and operations.
- Report progress, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
- Lead and coach managers and analysts across BI, development, data/finance, and systems.
- Ensure the team understands the context and value of business requests.
- Act as escalation point and ensure delivery quality.
4. Strategic Planning & Change
- Identify opportunities for system replacement, adoption or upgrades.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
- Balance firefighting with long-term planning.
