About us

Green Corridor is a dynamic UK registered Charity, working to improve the lives of 16-25 year olds with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through our various pathways which focus on employability and skills for everyday living and functional skills to help young people, with SEN and learning disabilities to gain confidence and social support, alongside nationally recognised qualifications. We run a section 41 Post-16 provision with about 50 learners on roll.

Role:

  • To integrate functional skills across the provision, ensuring that it is embedded appropriately within all lessons and parents/carers are able to reinforce learning at home.
  • Ensure the highest level of quality across functional skills provision by overseeing the assessment process and diagnostics to monitor individual learners' progression.
  • To build relationships with learners and fully understand their needs, in and outside of the classroom.
  • To devise and implement schemes of work and individual learner plans and advise colleagues.
  • To support tutors through training and observations to further enhance the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • To track progress and set appropriate functional skills targets, including decision making around exemptions, by making exemption recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Oversee the consistency and curriculum and exam process for all learners with regards to functional skills and ensure that documentation and assessments are undertaken to Centre and qualification standards.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality Functional Skills lessons.
  • Comprehensive experience of assessing exams for Maths and English functional skills.
  • Experience of taking multiple cohorts through the exams process including conducting speaking and listening exams from Entry 3 Level 2.
  • Experience of working within Further education/tutoring/high quality teaching with a variety of learners, including those with additional needs (SEN), in particular neurodivergent learners including EHCP plans and individual learner plans.
  • Understanding of the exam process in Functional skills with experience of coordinating and administration of the exams process.
  • Comprehensive experience of doing initial assessments and diagnostics (with BKSB desirable).
  • Minimum of Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent.
