We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic Senior Care Assistants to join our friendly team. You’ll be NVQ Level 3 qualified with a good understanding of medication management and CQC compliance, and a commitment to providing safe, effective, person-centred care. If you’re a compassionate care professional who leads by example and takes pride in supporting others, we’d love to hear from you.

Act as a Senior in charge, ensuring high standards of care to residents. Administer residents’ medication in accordance with The Greatham Foundation medication policies and procedures, and ensure that the policy for the storage and administration of medication is adhered to. Be responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive the required care. Maintain a system of care planning and review which meets the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident and ensure that this system is supported by an effective recording system. Ensure that care practices accord with The Greatham Foundation policies including those in the employee handbook and report any issues to the Manager or Duty Manager. Observe pre‑admission assessments carried out by the Manager or Duty Manager, ensuring that the needs of prospective residents can be met. Be involved in the system for the protection of vulnerable adults. Maintain effective working relationships with officers of the local authority and health professionals who may visit the home from time to time. Promote social activities within Stichell House that are in accordance with residents’ wishes and support residents to take part. Be involved with the manager and duty managers ensuring appropriate health care arrangements for each resident in terms of medical care, dental care, chiropody and ophthalmic care. Undertake on‑call duties in the absence of Duty Managers.

Person Specification

  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • At least three years’ experience of working with older adults and understanding complex needs in a similar care setting, including medication administration.
