The Great Yorkshire Events Centre is looking to expand its register of casual event workers to support the delivery of a wide range of events throughout the year.
From trade shows and exhibitions to conferences, gala dinners and large-scale public events, no two days are the same. The venue also plays a significant role during the Great Yorkshire Show, hosting attractions such as the Home & Gift Hall, the Food Hall and the Cheese & Dairy Show.
We are seeking reliable, enthusiastic individuals to provide additional support to our core team during event setup, delivery and breakdown, as and when business needs arise.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role that will involve a degree of physical work. As every event is different, duties will vary depending on the needs of the event and venue.
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Setting up event spaces and laying out furniture in accordance with event plans
- Assisting with venue setup and breakdown activities
- Supporting waste management and recycling initiatives within the venue
- Cleaning and preparing event spaces, including the safe use of cleaning equipment and machinery
- Providing front-of-house support when required
- Assisting the wider events team to ensure events are delivered successfully
- Undertaking other reasonable duties associated with event operations

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

Successful applicants will join our register of casual event workers.
Opportunities to work will be advertised through our app as and when business needs arise. There is no guarantee of work, and the Great Yorkshire Events Centre is under no obligation to offer any minimum number of hours or assignments. Likewise, individuals are under no obligation to accept any work that is offered.
Hours and frequency of work will vary depending on event schedules and operational requirements. Available shifts can be accepted by casual workers based on availability and business needs.
This opportunity is intended to provide additional support during busy periods and events and should not be regarded as a guarantee of regular or ongoing work.
