We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer on behalf of an industrial special works and hard FM main contractor with projects throughout Essex and Northeast London. The family-owned, £30m a year turnover company has an interesting, diverse portfolio of projects ranging from office fit outs to live factory modifications, re-roofing and mezzanine installations, each valued from £200k to £3m.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct frequent, unannounced inspections across a number of individual construction projects to monitor and enforce strict compliance with company health and safety policies and all relevant statutory regulations. They will then produce detailed, high-quality regular reports on audit findings, non-compliance issues, incident investigations, and all preventative/corrective actions taken. These reports will be presented to the H&S Manager and the Board, making this an important, business-critical role requiring the highest levels of diligence and responsibility.
Candidate essentials:
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, or NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent professional qualification).
- CSCS Card (Gold, Black or White).
- Driving License.
- Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience working in a dedicated health and safety role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using Microsoft Project for reporting and scheduling purposes.
With interviews available from w/c 9th Nov, employment can be offered immediately and salary is a competitive £50k to £60k + package or freelance pro rata day rate.
