Laundry Assistant

We are a warm and welcoming elderly residential care home dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centred care. We take pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable and homely environment for all our residents. We are now looking for a reliable and friendly Laundry Assistant to join our team.

Role Overview

The Laundry Assistant plays an important role in ensuring residents always have clean, fresh clothing, bedding, and linens. You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the laundry service within the home and contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting, sorting, and preparing laundry items including clothes, towels, and bedding
• Operating industrial washing and drying machines (full training provided)
• Labelling and organising clothing for each resident
• Ironing, folding, and returning items to the correct individuals/areas
• Ensuring infection control standards and hygiene practices are followed at all times
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe laundry room
• Reporting any damaged clothing or machine issues to senior staff
• Working closely with care staff to meet residents\’ needs and preferences

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Friendly, approachable, and respectful
• Able to follow instructions and training
• Keen to work in a caring, resident-focused environment
• Willing to complete training in infection control, manual handling and laundry procedures

No previous care or laundry experience is required – full training will be provided.
