Senior Conference and Events Sales Coordinator Join us for the Senior Conference and Events Sales Coordinator role at The Grand Hotel Birmingham . Overview We have an exciting opportunity to join our Conference & Events Sales team. In this role, you will establish and develop personal contact with all our Conference & Event guests, ensuring their event needs are met, while also meeting hotel commercial targets and budgets. You will work closely with the Conference & Events Sales Office & Reservations Manager and Assistant Manager, assisting in overseeing the hotel\’s commercial diary and fostering team development. Key Responsibilities Handle enquiries via phone, email & third-party websites, sending proposals to a high standard, focusing on high-profile, high-value, and complex bookings. Assist with managing daily department operations and implementing the selling strategy to maximize meetings and events space. Maintain high standards of Event Management and build relationships with clients to secure repeat business. Support the development of Conference & Events Sales Coordinators, promoting high-quality standards in customer service, relationship building, and sales techniques. Mentor and train new and current team members. Negotiate confidently with clients to secure business while ensuring profitability. Conduct show rounds to impress clients and secure bookings. Coordinate final event details and produce function sheets, ensuring all client requirements are communicated effectively. Lead pre-event meetings for high-value bookings, ensuring team alignment. Stay informed about market trends to maximize revenue streams and event delivery. Monitor and respond to online inquiries, demonstrating effective diary management. Manage the distribution of sales inquiries and optimize rates and revenues. Perform daily checks to manage inventory and re-sale opportunities. Lead competitor analysis efforts and contribute to department improvements. Complete daily checklists to ensure accurate payment and information capture. Implement and oversee post-event feedback procedures to enhance service and re-booking opportunities. Drive monthly departmental conversion days and other sales initiatives. Ideal Candidate Strong leadership and coaching skills to motivate the team and exceed targets. Analytical skills to interpret business indicators and market trends. Excellent selling capabilities and coaching abilities. Exceptional organizational and planning skills with attention to detail. Resilience and accountability in achieving results. Warm personality with excellent communication skills and adaptability to guest needs. Experience working towards targets and under pressure.
