As a Commis Chef at The Grand Hotel Birmingham, you’ll be part of a fast-moving kitchen team, preparing fresh dishes for guests and building the skills to take your career forward. It’s a hands‑on role where you’ll support senior chefs, rotate across different sections, and play your part in delivering high standards every day.

What you will do:

  • Prepare ingredients, cook simple dishes and plate food to the right standard
  • Support service by keeping things organised and running smoothly
  • Rotate through different kitchen sections as part of your training and development
  • Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards at all times
  • Assist with stock control and help reduce waste
  • Work as part of the team, stepping in to support wherever needed

What you will bring:

  • Experience in a kitchen environment is always a plus however this is not essential
  • A genuine passion for food and the ambition to progress in your career
  • Food hygiene knowledge – a food hygiene certificate is desirable
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes evenings and weekends
