We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Mathematics to join our highly successful department for a one-year maternity cover from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic graduate to contribute to a thriving and ambitious academic environment. The successful candidate will be able to teach Mathematics confidently across the Senior School, including at GCSE and A level. We welcome applications from experienced teachers as well as early career teachers who are keen to develop their practice within a strong and supportive department.

The Mathematics Department has a high profile within the school and an outstanding academic record at GCSE and A level, with strong progression to competitive university courses, including Oxbridge. Both Mathematics and Further Mathematics are popular choices in the Sixth Form. The department comprises eleven full-time and three part-time subject specialists, all of whom share a genuine enthusiasm for mathematics and a commitment to high academic standards. A strong culture of collaboration ensures that colleagues are well supported and that resources and expertise are shared effectively.

The department is exceptionally well resourced, with thirteen dedicated classrooms, all equipped with interactive touch screens. Technology is used thoughtfully to enhance teaching and learning, and pupils have access to a wide range of extension and support materials. Clinics and drop-in sessions are a valued part of departmental life, reflecting a commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities. Pupils participate widely and successfully in UKMT competitions and both individual and team challenges, and there is a strong tradition of enrichment beyond the classroom.

The maximum class size for year 7 and 8 is 24, smaller for practical subjects and decreases at KS4 and 5.
