  • Hours: 26 hours per week (this can be worked over 3 – 5 days)

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Events Officer to join our team and play a key role in delivering a varied programme of events that strengthen engagement with our community and raise the profile of the school. From pupil recruitment events and outreach activities to alumni gatherings and partnership initiatives, this is an exciting opportunity to create experiences that connect people with GSAL and showcase what makes our school distinctive.

We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing ideas to life, building strong relationships and thinking from the audience's perspective. Whether you have direct experience of event management or have successfully led projects and initiatives, you will be confident coordinating multiple priorities, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and ensuring every detail contributes to a positive attendee experience. You will be naturally proactive, identifying opportunities to enhance events, improve processes and increase engagement.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the school, as well as alumni, parents, partner schools, businesses, community organisations and external suppliers. Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to work independently, solve problems and adapt in a fast-paced environment. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience of event management systems or content management systems being advantageous, and will have an audience-focused mindset and a positive approach to continuous improvement.

As a school, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive community where equity, diversity, safeguarding and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend working to support the successful delivery of events throughout the year. If you are motivated by the opportunity to create meaningful experiences, build lasting relationships and contribute to the life of the school, we would love to hear from you.
