Our client is a well established organisation with a national remit and is now seeking a Head of Finance to lead its finance function and support strategic decision making at a senior level. This role will play a key part in ensuring strong financial governance, high quality reporting and effective financial planning across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the finance function, ensuring robust financial planning and control
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts and financial modelling to support organisational priorities
  • Deliver clear and timely financial information to senior leaders and governance forums
  • Oversee year‑end processes, statutory reporting and external audit activity
  • Translate complex financial data into accessible insight for non‑finance stakeholders
  • Lead, develop and support a high‑performing finance team
  • Ensure effective financial systems, processes and risk management are in place
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with external partners

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
  • Strong experience of budgeting, financial modelling and forecasting
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong planning, problem‑solving and time‑management skills
  • A values‑led approach, demonstrating integrity, transparency and a commitment to inclusive working practices
