A leading education organisation is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to oversee multiple sites and lead the delivery of safe, compliant and well-maintained facilities.
This role requires a unique mix of compliance expertise, practical maintenance knowledge and strong people skills. You'll be just as comfortable managing regulatory records and health & safety requirements as you are mentoring site teams, working alongside colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead facilities operations across multiple sites
- Ensure compliance records, inspections and statutory requirements are maintained
- Oversee health & safety, risk assessments and contractor performance
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance works
- Support, mentor and develop site teams
- Carry out or support practical maintenance tasks when required
- Manage projects, budgets and procurement activities
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders and key stakeholders
- Balance competing priorities across multiple departments and locations
What They're Looking For:
- Proven Facilities or Estates Management experience
- Strong compliance, health & safety and record-keeping knowledge
- Hands-on maintenance experience across general building services
- Experience leading, coaching or mentoring facilities teams
- Strong contractor and supplier management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and work effectively with a range of senior leaders
- Full UK driving licence
- School or education sector experience highly desirable
- IOSH, NEBOSH or similar qualification advantageous
