We’re working with a specialist information service to hire an Information Librarian who will help professionals and students access trusted evidence and research. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative knowledge team providing high-quality library and information services that support professional and academic development.
💥 What you’ll be doing
- Select, catalogue, index and abstract material from journals and digital sources for a specialist database
- Carry out literature searches and respond to information enquiries from subscribers, internal teams and other users
- Produce a weekly research bulletin and contribute to developing new information products
- Manage journal subscriptions and ensure smooth access for users
- Support editorial colleagues with reference checking, fact-finding and article supply
- Maintain and update content on library and information service web pages
- Contribute ideas for improving processes and adapting to emerging technologies and user needs
💥 What we’re looking for
- A degree (or equivalent) plus experience in library and information services, or an accredited library/information management qualification
- Experience in cataloguing/indexing and in carrying out literature searches and enquiry work
- Excellent written English with strong attention to detail and proofreading ability
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and databases, with an interest in digital library tools and new technology
- Great team-working skills and the ability to self-motivate and manage competing priorities
- Commitment to excellent customer service and to supporting evidence-based practice
- (Desirable) Professional library/information qualification (e.g. ACLIP or MCLIP), or experience in health information or writing abstracts
