About the Charity
Our client is a well-respected charity delivering impactful programmes, influencing policy, and supporting the people and communities they serve.
About the Role
The Head of Performance and Strategy will provide leadership on organisational performance and strategic development. Working closely with the executive team and board, you will oversee the charity’s performance frameworks, support the design and delivery of its strategic plan, and ensure decisions are underpinned by evidence and data.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of the charity’s strategic and operational plans.
- Develop and embed performance management frameworks, ensuring clear KPIs and outcomes are in place.
- Provide high-quality analysis and insight to support leadership decision-making.
- Work with teams across the organisation to build capacity in planning, data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
- Prepare performance and strategy reports for the executive team and board of trustees.
- Ensure the charity meets its regulatory and compliance requirements in relation to performance reporting.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive and senior leadership, contributing to organisational direction and long-term sustainability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in strategy development, performance management, or business planning at a senior level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience of leading organisational change and embedding performance frameworks.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with operational detail.
- Strong understanding of governance and accountability in a charity or not-for-profit setting.
- Experience working within the charity, membership, or public sector.
- Knowledge of impact measurement methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for charities.
