We’re working with an organisation supporting young people across East London who are at risk of school exclusion, serious youth violence, or experiencing mental health challenges. They are now looking to appoint a Youth Worker to mentor and support vulnerable young people through 1-2-1 sessions, after-school activities and structured positive programmes. This is a hands-on, relationship-led role where impact is visible and meaningful.

As a Youth Worker, you will:

  • Deliver 1-2-1 mentoring sessions to young people at risk
  • Support young people on school sites and local estates
  • Develop and deliver workshops, positive activities and holiday programmes
  • Support young people at risk of serious youth violence
  • Work closely with schools, parents and external professionals
  • Manage safeguarding incidents appropriately
  • Monitor attendance, engagement and behavioural progress
  • Maintain accurate records in line with funder requirements
  • Contribute to residential and wider youth engagement programmes
  • Promote equality, safeguarding and professional standards at all times

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with challenging young people
  • Experience supporting young people at risk of exclusion or serious youth violence
  • Experience managing safeguarding concerns
  • Level 3 Youth Work qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate case records
  • Flexible, resilient and proactive approach
