The predicted salary is between 46000 - 52000 Β£ per year.

My client is currently looking for someone who is organised, interpersonal and has experience in a management role. Also with a keen interest in health and social care, particularly mental health.

JOB PURPOSE

Help to manage and continually improve the work by working closely with the other senior leaders, including the Senior Associate Director, Heads of Department, the (Clinical) Director and the Clinical Lead for Accreditation. To oversee the successful delivery of a group of national programmes that focus on improving quality in mental health services, including the:

  • Accreditation Programme for Psychological Therapy Services
  • Early Intervention in Psychosis Network
  • ECT Accreditation Service
  • Home Treatment Accreditation Scheme
  • Memory Services Accreditation Programme
  • Mental Health Care Pathways Project
  • Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services
  • Quality Network for Prison Mental Health Services
  • Quality Network for Psychiatric Intensive Care Units
  • Any other projects within the cluster.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the programme managers to deliver work on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Provide training, support, supervision, appraisals and coaching to the programme managers in Cluster 2.
  • Attend regular meetings with the senior leads and managers to make decisions regarding the management and development.
  • Work with the programme managers, project teams and other stakeholders to ensure that the methods used for collecting, analysing and reporting data are effective.
  • Ensure that Cluster 2 publications, reports, web pages and other communication outputs are engaging, relevant and of a high standard.
  • Attend and lead site visits to mental health services to assess the quality of care being provided.
  • Ensure effective patient and carer involvement across the programme of work.
  • Ensure that the mental health services taking part in the programmes are provided with guidance, training and networking opportunities to learn about Quality Improvement (QI) methods.
  • Support the Chairs of the Combined Committee for Accreditation to ensure that accreditation processes are robust, consistent, fair and transparent.
  • Ensure strong financial management is in place and have a strategy to ensure that Cluster 2 remains financially viable in the event of reduced income.
  • Encourage and facilitate flexible staff working across the centre.
  • Attend regular meetings with other senior managers to support and influence the work of the wider organisation.
  • Regularly travel across the UK to visit mental health services and attend meetings. Overnight stays may be required for some visits and a certain level of flexibility is needed at periods of increased workload.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Strong management experience within a health quality organisation, public sector services, or similar.
  • Experience of working with health or social care services.
  • Experience of conducting clinical audit/quality improvement.
  • Excellent organisation, management, leadership and people management skills.
  • Project management experience and ability to coordinate and manage programme of work.
  • Experience of managing a team and conducting staff appraisals.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office packages.
  • Knowledge of statistics and managing large electronic databases and controlling data quality.

DESIRABLE

  • A graduate in social sciences, health sciences, or similar discipline.
  • Experience of working with people who have mental health problems.
  • Experience of monitoring multiple budgets.
