Help colleagues get the most from their technology
Our client is looking for a practical IT professional who enjoys helping people and keeping day-to-day technology organised. You will bring together user support, equipment coordination and workplace software administration, making sure colleagues can access the tools and guidance they need.
This role suits someone who can explain a technical issue clearly, keep track of requests and work effectively with an external support company. Alongside helping users, you will contribute to training, documentation and improvements to IT services.
Supporting people and resolving requests
You will help colleagues with routine questions about business software and coordinate assistance from the outsourced IT service. This includes checking the progress of outstanding requests, following up delays and escalating matters that need specialist attention. You will work with users and suppliers to keep everyone informed and move issues towards resolution.
You will also make technology easier to understand by running training sessions and producing clear, practical instructions. Some materials will be developed with external specialists; others will respond directly to the questions colleagues raise.
Keeping equipment and systems organised
Accurate equipment records will be part of your remit. You will help arrange purchases, maintain an overview of devices and support the IT arrangements needed when people join or leave the organisation.
You will assist with the administration of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, working with relevant colleagues and technical partners to keep these services running smoothly. The emphasis is on reliable everyday use, appropriate support and well-organised processes.
Helping improve the service
You will coordinate contributions to IT projects, bring together information from colleagues and suppliers, and follow through on agreed actions. By participating in discussions about technology, you will help ensure that user needs inform improvements.
You will contribute to written procedures and guidance covering the safe and effective use of IT. This includes supporting good information-handling practices and helping the organisation maintain appropriate security and governance arrangements
