The Role

You’ll join the maths department on a salaried training route. From the outset you’ll support classes, deliver small‑group teaching, and gradually take on your own lessons with mentor guidance. You’ll follow a clear training plan, develop behaviour routines, assess learning, and build strong exam technique across KS3–KS4.

The Candidate

You hold a maths or related STEM degree, explain concepts clearly, and stay organised under pressure. You’re motivated to qualify as a Maths Teacher and ready to learn quickly in a fast‑paced school environment.

Requirements

  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in maths or a related subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Strong commitment to qualifying as a Maths Teacher.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.

A centrally located secondary with established training and mentoring. You’ll have a subject mentor, protected development time, and access to high-quality resources to accelerate your progress towards QTS.
