Science Academic CoachAre you a science graduate seeking paid classroom experience as a Science Academic Coach before teacher training?Can you lift attainment in biology, chemistry and physics through sharp, structured support?*** Science Academic Coach*** Immediate start until July 2026*** £80 – £100 per day*** ‘Good’ secondary school, Walsall*** 1:1 and small group support in KS3 and KS4The Role:Work with the science team to close gaps and build confidence across KS3–KS4. You’ll run short interventions, deliver 1:1 tuition, and prepare pupils for assessments with clear explanations and practice tasks. You’ll help create resources, track impact, and feedback next steps to teachers.The Candidate:You hold a science-related degree and explain concepts simply and accurately. You’re organised, calm under pressure, and able to motivate learners who need a confidence boost. You want to develop the classroom skills that lead into teacher training.Requirements• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.• Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in supporting student progress.• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.The School:This ‘Good’ Walsall secondary has strong behaviour systems and a collaborative science department.
