English Academic Coach   Are you a graduate with a passion for English and a drive to help students succeed at GCSE?   *** September 2025 to July 2026 *** £82–£102 per day *** State-of-the-art secondary school, Ward of Yardley *** Targeted 1:1 and small group English support across Key Stage 4 *** Ideal stepping stone for future English teachers   The Role You’ll support Year 10 and 11 pupils preparing for their English GCSEs. You’ll work mainly with small groups or individual students, focusing on key areas like exam texts, writing structure, and analysis. You’ll help students stay focused, close learning gaps, and build the skills they need to improve their grades. You may also contribute to revision sessions and develop targeted resources with the English team.   The Candidate You’ve got a 2:1 or above in English or a related subject, strong A-Levels, and some experience working with young people—through tutoring, mentoring, youth work or similar. You’ve got a confident grasp of the GCSE English curriculum, communicate clearly, and can motivate students who need extra support. You’re considering teaching and want to gain meaningful experience first.   The School This is a large, well-equipped secondary school in the Ward of Yardley with a track record of academic improvement. The English department is supportive and well organised, and the school runs a strong intervention programme.
