English Academic Coach Are you looking for an English Academic Coach role to build classroom experience before teacher training? Could you use your English expertise to boost progress for KS3 and KS4 pupils through targeted support? *** English Academic Coach *** Immediate start until July 2026 *** £80 – £100 per day *** ‘Outstanding’ secondary school, Wolverhampton *** English academic support across KS3 and KS4 The Role: You’ll work with the English department to close gaps and raise attainment. Expect to lead short intervention groups, provide 1:1 tutoring, and reinforce reading, writing, and analysis. You’ll help prepare resources, support revision and exam technique, and track simple progress notes to inform next steps. The Candidate: You hold a degree (English or related preferred), explain ideas clearly, and build rapport quickly with learners. You’re organised, proactive, and motivated to move into teacher training after a successful year in school. Requirements • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject. • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication. • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate. • Desire to work in education/with children – Keen to support pupil progress and pursue teaching. • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
