1:1 and small group interventions across KS1

Responsibilities
  • You will deliver tightly planned 1:1 and small group sessions that align with class teaching.
  • You will build phonics, reading fluency and common-exception-word recall.
  • You will strengthen early writing through sentence modelling and guided practice.
  • You will secure number fluency with daily rehearsal of place value and simple problem solving, using concrete and pictorial representations where needed.
  • You will pre‑teach key vocabulary and routines before new units begin.
  • You will check understanding with quick diagnostics and fix misconceptions early so pupils return to lessons ready to engage.
  • You will keep concise notes after each session, update simple trackers and agree next steps with the class teacher.
  • You will uphold clear routines, follow safeguarding procedures and support calm transitions.
Candidate & Requirements
  • You are a clear communicator who stays organised in busy classrooms and explains ideas in small steps.
  • You notice gaps early, keep sessions purposeful and build independence without over‑prompting.
  • Degree, 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication, strong written and spoken English.
  • Enhanced DBS, held already or willingness to obtain.
  • Desire to work in education/with children, commitment to inclusion and progress.
  • Experience working with children, relevant experience is desirable but not essential.

This "Outstanding" Hall Green primary is two‑form entry with calm, predictable routines from arrival to home time. Reading is prioritised with daily phonics and matched reading in Year 1 and 2.
