School based in the Ward of Selly Oak

Lead triage, assessment, and therapeutic interventions, guiding the clinical team to improve pupil wellbeing.

The Role:

  • You will be the school's senior clinical lead, turning referrals into timely, effective support.
  • You will run triage clinics, undertake structured assessments, set clear formulations and agree treatment plans that fit the school day.
  • You will deliver brief, evidence‑based interventions such as CBT, solution‑focused work and behavioural parent guidance, and you will supervise counsellors, ELSAs and external therapists so practice is consistent.
  • You will track risk, write concise reports, and coordinate with CAMHS, social care and GPs.
  • You will train staff on de‑escalation, anxiety, low mood, self‑harm awareness and trauma‑informed routines.
  • You will monitor impact with simple measures, refine pathways and brief SLT on trends so policies and timetables support mental health as well as attainment.

The Candidate & Requirements:

  • HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist, Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
  • Skilled in formulation‑driven, brief interventions for children and adolescents.
  • Confident supervising multi‑disciplinary teams and providing reflective practice.
  • Strong safeguarding, risk assessment and partnership working with CAMHS and social care.
  • Clear writer and trainer, able to produce usable guidance for busy staff.

This Selly Oak setting has stable routines and a joined‑up pastoral system. Referral routes are simple, response times are agreed, and the SENCO, DSL and attendance team meet weekly to review cases.
